History: This herb has been associated with love potions for ages. It has been used both as an addition to the bedroom to help couples restore their relationships by the French, and as an aphrodisiac by the Romans. It has also been used to cure stings, wounds, indigestion, and sore throats.
Farming and harvesting: This bushy annual plant grows in full sun. They get up to 1 1/2 feet, and can be harvested by snipping the bush’s hairy stems and laying on a screen to dry. When the clippings are dried out, the leaves are stripped and stored.
Culinary applications: Usually prepared in herb blends and added to pastas, soups and stews, and meat dishes. Blends well with basil, bay leaf, marjoram, thyme, and rosemary.
